The design makes it possible to position the engine higher without any modifications to the bulkhead, thanks to the smaller diameter of the gearbox housing compared to the ZD30 gearbox. The low weight of the complete set (BMW ZF gearbox + adapter + Nissan Patrol transfer case) makes installation and removal easier and offers greater freedom when designing an exhaust system within the chassis profile.
